Rolling Stone tears apart Pete Wentz's new TV show

Rolling Stone has a fairly scathing look at Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy's latest endeavour, his TV show FNMTV. The magazine described the program as "a celebration of awkwardness than the art of lip synching and cheesy acting."

Among the crimes committed by the show are "Wentz's repeated references to his wife and (impending) kid" and a crowd that finds Blink-182 more important than The Who. After all, how could "Baba O'Riley" compare to "What's My Age Again?"

i dunno, call me old fashioned, but when i get done pumping iron(and when i say "pumping iron" i mean slamming heroin and then stapling 5,000 mailers for my work from home business) i really like the lemon-lime "electrolyte" flavor. it reminds me of gatorade, but it's trendier and the word electrolyte on the bottle makes me feel better about my expensive drug habit.

I watched a rebroadcast and it wasn't as good as I hoped. That said it was cool having someone give love to the cure and blur on MTV. And for the record, I find blink 182 to a be a lot more important than the Who. Blink actually had an impact on my personal development. The Who might be better but I think a lot of us wouldn't be here hating on Pete Wentz without Blink.

There is a big difference between how a band affects you personaly and their importance in the grand scope of music. I may relate and would prefer to listen to say Jawbreaker more than the Beetles but I would never try to say Jawbreaker were a more important band than the Beetles.

True but considering the audience (regardless of the fact of which band is "better) who do you honestly think has more impact? I'm not trying to defend Pete but I think Rolling Stone slightly missed the mark on this point. I doubt I'll watch the second episode of this show, they promised videos and they maybe showed two or three actual full videos.

I had no idea that Wentz had a show. I'm not much of a fan of anything he's done yet so I don't have high hopes.

Just for fun I'll name the offenses that Mr. Wentz has committed against decency:

1) Fall Out Boy.

2) Self-prostitution on a scale that would make any aging hair-metal "singer" look like Ian MacKaye

3) Knocking up Ashlee Simpson thereby making way for the rise of the Musical Anti-Christ.
