Just not a very good album. Don't like how Matt's vocals sound on this. I wanted to like it. 13+ Replies

this cannot be the band that released Maybe I'll Catch Fire. I honestly am trying to like this. 3+ Replies

i was listening to this for the first time last night. i got kinda bored and haven't finished it yet..
ikeandtina (June 27, 2008)
this album is kind of a let down, i have listened to it about five times..i would say about a 5/10, because half of it is pretty decent. crimson was a way better effort.
Apeman_On_The_Moon (June 27, 2008)
Help Me and In Vein has some nice catchy pop qualities, but the rest of the album almost literally put me to sleep last night. Not even the superpowers of Dan Andriano could save this record.

half of this record is okay at best, the other half is horrible and boring. where the fuck the the drunken punk rock go? 1+ Reply

Hmmm, looks as if I’m continuing my trend of liking albms that most of .org feels pretty “meh” about; I really like this, better then Crimson for sure, however I’m going to have to listen to it a couple more times until I know it’ll stand with the other albums. Catchy stuff. 1+ Reply

I'd check this out, but I am too busy laughing my ass off watching George Carlin : You Are All Diseased. This man was a fucking genius. 3+ Replies

After one listen, I like 8 of the 11 songs. Unfortunately, about 3 of the bad songs are in a row, which makes me stop paying attention. 1+ Reply

Overall I am impressed with this album. For the most part i can hear the "organic" feel that matt had said there would be and i dig it.

i've heard alot of shit talk but i actually like this...but i also really like crimson, seems like the natural progression from crimson

Goddamn this album is so monotonous and boring: quiet verses and over-produced, loud choruses. 1+ Reply
happynolucky (June 27, 2008)
sounds pretty good so far. its definately different. im really enjoying the song Over and Out
ludwigg (June 27, 2008)
a few things... 1) im glad the new press shot is not dripping with death and vampire imagery. 2) i thought they were trying to get away from the "crimson" sound. this is the most crimson sounding record...besides crimson. 3) when did they get so boring? 4) that clock sample in lost and rendered is lame as fuck. 5) Why in the FUCK is there an acoustic bonus version of Maybe I'll Catch Fire on this fucking album? If that isn't irrelevant, I don't know what is. 6) This is probably going to have to grow on me...like their last three albums have had to. But I don't want it to have to. I want to listen to the damn thing and say "Wow, this is really good. Now I want to listen to all their records again" Problem is, I don't really listen to them anymore and probably wont get around to listening to this show rest of comment 2+ Replies

Calling All Skeletons is a fucking awesome track 1. Way better than Time to Waste... weak.
CobraSkullsFan (June 27, 2008)
i think most of you who call yourselves "old fans" are not giving them enough credit. No popular band from years and years ago are going to put out what they once did. Less than jake, goldfinger, against me!, anti-flag just to name a few were mostly let-downs this in the past 12 months. bands change. some of the tracks on all of those records are great. get over it. 2+ Replies

Also I would have thought more people had this downloaded by other means at this point.

The first four songs are great, then it just circles the drain. What a shame. For a moment I was feeling a comeback.
travisdork (June 27, 2008)
seriously. listen to cringe and tell me any song on this pile of garbage rivals that song.
szechwan_platypus (June 27, 2008)
Does anyone else wish that Good Mourning/their subsequent output would've sounded more like their song "old school reasons" off of the Oil comp from Thick, or am I alone in that sentiment? Given, I thought that Good Mourning had some pretty good songs on it, but after that...meh (cue same complaints as 95% of the people on here etc. etc.).
SmittyyttimS (June 27, 2008)
i'm and old school trio fan and i love it......whoa!!
realfakepunker (June 27, 2008)
im not totally pumped on this but i keep listening to it..... there's something about it but im just not sure what. there are some really gnarly drums in this record tho
MisterRevenge (June 27, 2008)
I really like it--but I also real hate certain aspects of it. The songs are way too long for starters. If they cut them in half this album would be a helluva lot better. A majority of the intros are pretty awkward too. It doesn't seems like they fit the music that follows. I guess they could have cut those out. Then theres the writing..oohhh, the writing. The verses seem ok from what I've heard heard but my god, the choruses are bad. "Love, love, kiss, kiss," "Believe in you tonight," "Live young, die fast" and two of the songs may as well have been called Help Me. Also, I Found Away sounds like it belongs on a club mix(mainly due to that terrible "disco" drum beat Derrick uses in multiple songs...that beat needs to stop.) Lots of wierd oohs and ahhs beeps and weeoo sound effects throughout the album I could do without too. Oh, and show rest of comment 1+ Reply
teeto (June 27, 2008)
Do mean the pre-chorus "...you left all the lights burning/and nobody's home.." part in "help me"? Cuz I just listened to most of the album, and yeah that's definately the best part of it.
Apeman_On_The_Moon (June 27, 2008)
Agony and Irony makes Crimson sound like Goddamnit!
Kram1234 (June 28, 2008)
the trio will never be as good as they use to be, but i mean im sure tey needed money to support themselves and all that jazz.. so they signed major.. and i wanted to love this cd too, i just completely despise some songs like i found away. cant even listen to it..

It starts "Ok" then Over and Out hits and it gets funny. You almost wonder if they did this as a joke. Seriously when Dan sings "don't let Goooooo" in "Do You Wanna Know?" I start laughing and can't stop. Seriously listen to all the rhyming as the album goes on and pretend it's alk3 hip hop. Alot of fun. | Features
