Media: The Real McKenzies: “The Lads Who Fought & Won”

Vancouver, BC's The Real McKenzies have released the very first MP3 from their upcoming album Off the Leash, due out August 05, 2008. It is the follow-up to 10,000 Shots which was released in 2005. The track, titled "The Lads Who Fought & Won" is available as a full MP3 download from Fat Wreck Chords here.

Completely underrated band. You can definitely tell Fat Mike has a hand in producing this album, by this track. NOFX feel to the guitars and bass for sure.

Hope the album is a little better than this song though. Chorus is kind of anti-climatic.

Super fun live band. The recorded material is always a "sometimes" music for me. But live, they are one of the most entertaining acts ever.

This is not their best, but it is much more enjoyable to listen to than a lot of other stuff out there. I am looking forward to seeing them live again.

10,000 shots has to be one of the most un-noticed great albums out their....legit.

i agree, this song doesnt have that automatic punch. its not bad...im totally jazzed for the album.

how about tour?
