Rx Bandits planning next album

Rx Bandits have begun writing for their next album. According to a report from guitarist/keyboardist Steve Choi:

Just got home from practice. We just recorded our first run through of the body of music we are currently working on.. and yes, it will be played straight through on recording, multiple songs played straight through live and uncut. That's all for now.

The band took a similar recording technique for their previous record, ...And the Battle Begun.

Love this band. These guys are great musicians and always flawless live. It's cool that some bands are still recording stuff live.

I'd probably rate the last album a little below The Resignation, but not by much. They're so much better nowadays than their pre-Resignation stuff, although Progress has some really good songs on it.

im all for recording stuff live in the studio, but if its like a cassette, and you would have to fastforward to the next song, that would suck.

i can't imagine they'd do it that way.

i guess the sound of animals fighting dvd was like that, though. that was kind of annoying.

Whatever happened to the live album they were asking fans to assemble?

Anyhow, I really liked their last album. I was surprised when I went through the review to see so many critics. It was not without its flaws but overall it was an enjoyable listen (I'd say the 7/10 is fair, though sometimes I'd say it's an 8). Really surprised to read kids just shit bagging that album. Anyhow, hope this is good too.

It was a bit too experimental in parts. It was their first self released album, and I think they let the creative freedom go to their heads. Sometimes you need a record label guy to step in, tell the band to stop smoking so much weed and write a hook.

Going to have to agree with this guy. This band is best when they are experimenting and pushing their boundaries. They still write great hooks, they just aren't as obvious as when they were a Drive Thru band.

I'm not saying that every band should bend to every whim of every record label. But come on, sometimes you need some outside perspective. You work on the same songs day in and day out for months at a time and you can easily lose sight of the larger picture.

Flaws are what make it a living body of work. Processed is easy, but living with mistakes that you feel like still get the musical point across is not so easy.

I'm so stoked. It's amazing they record like this. They are true artists and musicians and my mind. If anybody hasn't heard And The Battle Begun, give it a chance and plenty of time to grow on you. I can put that album on repeat.
