i thought nofx were cool/funny when i was 15. that was 14 years ago. now their shtick is just old and played out. it's actually gotten worse since fat mike became so "politically aware".

well, i've never seen either of them live (minus all the punk points in the world, and then some), but i was mainly talking about their music. obviously its not the exact same, but fast, melodic, punk rock isn't all that different from fast, melodic, punk rock. i like them both.

D4 have a distinctly different sound than NOFX.
D4 sound amazing. nofx sound like a bunch of 16 year olds who just realized they can play their instruments really fast.

well yea. i could blindly listen to a new D4 song and a new NOFX song and tell you which band wrote each song. it just seems to me that their music is similar enough that it would be strange to love one band and hate the other. but now that i understand your objections are partially based on a perceived level of immaturity, i am less confused. that is all. enjoy D4.

Uh ever heard of jazz theory? Dillinger Escape Plan has.They arent very good "car listening" but thos dudes no what they are doing.They know what 'Melodic Structure" and ahrmony is too,they just hate that shit. Dillinger four has wierd time changes,not just abrupt tempochanges and their lyrics a awash with allusion satire,and allegory. Do some homework.

NOFX>D4

For every good song D4 has, NOFX has an album ten times better. Sure NOFX has put out their share of garbage (Pump Up the Valium, Heavy Petting Zoo are two that come to mind), but overall D4's albums are never hit after hit. Not to mention when Erik Melvin sings a song or even El Hefe, the songs are usually decent, but when Patty sings, it ruins it.

ok. el hefe and smelly are talented. the whole 16 year old comment maybe was a bit much. but as a band as a whole they aren't that talented.
nofx are a great band when you're a teenager. but then you get a bit older and realize there are A LOT better bands out there.
with that being said. i'm assuming most of you who are praising nofx as being "amazing" are all under 21.

I´m 28 an they are still one of my favorite bands.
and seriously I don´t care about talent. Maybe the guys in Dave Mathews Band are way better musicians than any of my favorite bands.so what? they still suck.

then have fat mike ramble on about politics and religion between songs. when most of what comes out of his mouth contradicts half of the other shit he says.

nofx are like that kid in your grade 9 class who dyes his hair bright red or green or whatever flashy colour. at the time you think it's pretty badass. but a few years later when you look back at it you realize he just looked like an asshole.

I think you should stick around and watch them on the first night at least. They're still fucking hilarious. Even if you don't like the music that much, it's like a good stand up act. And seriously, they are old and they are assholes, but they're still one of the most entertaining live bands out there.

Oh come on, there's not only tours in life... For example over here we can get cured even if we aren't rich. Not to mention food (apart from England, where the food is about as horrible as it is in North America, there is no comparison) or girls (again I'm not talking about England). Also, I believe we enjoy more life here, it's less all about money and competition. In my experience, there are differences between the UK and North America, but they are not so diffent, you were just colonies, you evolved separately only for 200 years. There is a much greater difference between the UK and any other European country.

I know I'm in a small minority, but I love that album. I can see why it isn't universally liked, but I'm kinda confused why it's almost universally disliked.

At a minimum I think the lyrics are some* of their best.
