I thought that with the first 5 listens, as I thought about Crimson.

But both eventually grew on me.

Good Mourning never grew on me though.

It's not great, but I wouldn't call it horrible. I like Calling all Skeletons. To be honest, I fucking hated "Love Love, Kiss Kiss" the first few times, but I actually like it now.

I know its a cliched insult but I seriously thought I accidently picked up a Good Charlotte cd. Just slow, boring, unispired pop. If the whole Skiba devil worship thing is true, Satan is certainly not stoked on this record.

One of the consistantly great live bands out there right now. My favorite DKM stuff was with Mike McColgan anyway, so it made perfect sense that the Street Dogs would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I see them whenever I can, can't wait for the new album

I think they're alright. I'd prefer a little more crossover/thrash and less chugga chugga modern hardcore. I hate most modern hardcore though, so my opinion is probably in the minority when it comes to this bands sound.

Let me get a fuck yeah for Moving Mountains. I'm nowhere near tired of that one yet. On the other hand, I was done with the new Alk3 the second time I heard it. I didn't hate it, but it seems like a giant waste of time when there's so much better stuff out there at the moment. Like Transit or Racing Exit 13.

So yeah, I just listened to the new Gaslight Anthem cd for the first time, and I just cant stop wondering what the hell happened to the production. I mean shit, the name "59 Sound" isn't too far off, as the damn thing sounds like it was recorded with equipment from 1959.

Its sad because the music is fucking great. Easily could have been up there for best cd of the year. But the production takes so much away - makes it sound so much weaker than it could have been. A damn shame, I say.

You fucking kids are so goddamned obnoxious sometimes. Stuck up, pretentious, and way the fuck too elitist. I think the absolute worst part about this site, and most punks in general is the tendency to build a band up to fucking legendary status, and then tear them down when they actually get big (which is probably your damned fault anyway), AM!, A3, and soon The Gaslight Anthem. The new A3 is a good album, New Wave is a good album. Sure, they're both more polished, but that's what both bands were going for. Quit being dicks, and just enjoy some music. Without thinking about it's relative effect on your cred.

Against Me! is my favorite band and I will say that New Wave, while a good record, isn't nearly as good due to the lack of energy. Alkaline Trio has been absolutely horrendous since Good Mourning. Sink or Swim by Gaslight was boring while the 59 Sound is great. Who cares, dog.

The Atmosphere album is nice. There are about 4 or 5 straight jams on that record. It is different than his previous stuff, and I think it is better. Check out Puppets, You (kinda corny at first but after a few listens you'll be jammin), and Yesterday. These 3 songs are classics in my opinion.

Well, yeah. It's not news, in any sense of the term. Max's project was news (i think it's a great idea, actually), and his little stream of consciousness was given as a message to another site's readers, and he decided to attack either this site, its users, or both (though our article itself has no ill-will, so I presume he meant only the users).

It's understandable that he was a little upset at the kids on here saying that they didn't like his idea, but to be honest, kind of shitty to see him use ap.net as an outlet to bitch about the users of a competing website. I realize that it was only the end of his message and not the motivation behind it, but still, it's a bit of a shitty thing to do.

I also can't decide what to think of AP for posting it. On the one hand, I'm all for free speech and so in that instance, if you're posting the message

I just heard the Static Radio NJ stream and its good and might grow somemore on me. In the Kid Dynamite-y songs I think they sound most like The Steal personally. But I'm pretty sure that Smarten Up by Project 27 is the album of the month. Trash Talk's s/t was also pretty good IMO

I haven't heard the Monikers full length yet -- apparently its available on vinyl only and there are tentative plans for a CD but not for a while. If anyone has it or knows where I could find a digital version let me know.

new ceremony isn't too much different than violence violence, but i guess it's kind of hard to expand on their damaged-era black flag sound. still an ok progression, and i'm liking it.

So I listened to this. Pretty awesome, although I doubt they can ever top Violence Violence which was unbelievable. Definitely read the lyrics..I thought the line "Fuck..the..government" was a little lame until I read what he said next

WOW !!! July was such a good month too!! No Misery Signals, After the burial, Left To Vanish, A Breath Before Surfacing, Sky Eats Airplane, Liferuiner....THOSE ALL EVEN CAME OUT ON THE SAME DAY! i mean come!! some of the best stuff of the genre here!
