Bob Mould has announced his plans to release a new "guitar" album in early 2009. Mould very simple states:

i've been saying this for years. but if you're going to tour, bob mould, and you're not going to tour with husker du, then at least tour with paul westerberg. that would be a great tour. 3+ Replies

I finally gave Zen Arcade a shot this week, and man, just wasn't feeling it at all. Its pretty flat. 6+ Replies

stoked but what does "guitar album" mean? District Line is for the most part guitar based. no electronic elements at all now? I think they were integrated wonderfully this time round. 2+ Replies

i'd be interested to know if he'd be into a Sugar reunion. i think they'd be easier to recreate than Husker Du.

Bob Mould and Grant Hart apparently hate each others guts, so a Husker Du reunion isn't likely.

You didn't really saw Zen Arcade was "flat" did you? Everyone has thier own vibe they are into but "flat" - really? I have to stay away from this site for a few days....

Been listening to a couple of Husker Du albums in the car going to and from work this week, great stuff. In a communist country they would never have been allowed to split, which is the best argument I can think of for communism.

Bob Mould does not need to reform Sugar or Husker Du as he has the Bob Mould Band.

I think what he means is that it is going to be more rock oriented.....I mean, the last two albums are some of my favorite albums of the past few years....but I think this just means he's going for a more stripped down approach this time....or maybe he's just clarifying it's going to be like the other two...who knows. Despite my love for the two recent ones, I'd love to hear Bob Mould do something that is equal parts aggressive and melodic...much like Zen Arcade. 'Something I Learned Today' is one of the greatest songs in existence. | Features
