Assorted Jellybeans back together

Riverside, CA's Assorted Jellybeans have re-banded after disbanding some time ago. According to the group's MySpace page, Assorted Jellybeans were the reason that Joe and Warren from The Vandals started Kung Fu records. Drummer Richard Falomir went on to become The Aquabats' drummer, with the alias Ricky Fitness.

No future plans have been laid out so far, so keep checking for more updates.

How is the reunion? I first heard these guys on the Punk Bites compilation years ago (its a fucking great comp, almost up there with Fat comp with Chuck on the CD).

Then I saw them once open for Strung Out at Palookaville in Santa Cruz. Haven't heard of them since though.

It was played quite heavily back in the day. "Butterfly" Joe Jack Talcum has a funny story where he's working in some shit restaurant and the song comes on the radio and he realizes how lame it is to be the next big thing.

Is the hyperbole on the myspace meant to be ironic? 'Best punk band since Op Ivy'? I used to love them but now they annoy me in the same way Barney and The Twinkies do, its just too cheesy and pre-teenish.

Awesome! I thought their first album was good, but What's Really Going on?! blew it away.

WRGO?! and the b sides Somewhere in the Middle and Doodis are still in heavy rotation on my ipod.

I remember they were supposed to play my city before WRGO came out, but got lost on the way and showed up too late to play. I talked to the bass player, asked him if they had any new albums coming out and he gave me a their split with the Vandals as an apology for not being able to play. Hopefully a full tour is in the works...
