Deathwish signs New Lows

Deathwish has announced the signing of Boston, MA-based New Lows. The band includes former members of Think I Care and So Be It.

I haven't been to a single "local" show in Boston. My friends put on a show at our school's campus, but it was all Emerson kids so I have no idea what the "scene" is like.

Unearth were selling hoodies where it was written "Boston fucking metal". It was actually funny and they were selling a lot of them because the venue in which I saw that show was half an hour from the British Boston.

I think Jacob Bannon signs anything that sounds like a group of 14 year olds just starting to play punk rock.

I think they have a LOT of good bands. One of the better hardcore labels out there today.

I just scoped the roster. Integrity and Terror are the only bands that stand out. Except Terror was on TrustKill and are now on Century Media, so I am not sure why they are listed here. The Hope Con were awesome through Endnote but the reformation sounds almost like a whole new band and style with Kevin's vocals.
There are other bands that are decent and enjoyable, but nothing worthy of legendary status.

Then again, I can't think of any label that is consistently good anymore. Ferret may have been in the early 2000s, and Equal Vision was quality many a years ago. Fat and Epitaph were great in the 90s, but only have a couple good bands left. Amongst Epitaph's shitty signings, Converge and Death By Stereo were good choices.

Victory for the most part has always sucked, with the exception of Blood For Blood. Relapse, RoadRunner, Earache, Metal Blade, Century Media, Nuclear Blast all have some great bands, but they have so many that suck as well.

end of a year just signed with them and they are fucking awesome. there are a few more bands i like (blacklisted, ceremony, etc.), but no others that would be up in my favorites.

Sounds good, reminds me of some of Yellowcard's earlier material. Then they learned to play thier instraments a little better and wrote great songs like "Ocean Avenue". That song sends chills down my spine everytime I think about it, which is about 4 times a week, sometimes more if I'm having a bad week. After you check out Deathwishes myspace, head on over to Yellowcard and see how they have the same vibe but are a little more fun and more girls like them also.

Your opinion on the label is yours to have, say what you will - but I'd appreciate if you didn't say anything bad about our small street team, as they are some nice people who want to help their hometown scenes grow, and support the hardworking bands that are on Deathwish.

Are people actually shit talking Deathwish as a record label? This blows my mind. They sign amazing band after amazing band. I mean fuck me, I just went to their website to put together a list of great bands and had forgotten a bunch who recorded with them:

And in any case, maybe you can shit on the music if you think NOFX invented music twenty years go and clench your ass every time you hear "hardcore" because you never bothered to look beyond Set Your Goals, but are you really going to say Jacob Bannon is a bad human being who is somehow hurting punk rock?

I think some of you are mistaking Deathwish for Victory. I also am pretty sure some of you are idiots.

Deathwish decided to reissue a re-mastered version of Violence Violence the same time as Bridge 9's release of Scared People forcing Ceremony to compete with themselves in record sales. A very scumbag move from deathwish.

Violence Violence needed to be re-pressed. Upon acquiring Malfunction records, Deathwish re-pressed it (that happens when things go out of press/are close to going out of press) - this did not cause a rift with bridge 9. We also did not "cut" promotion of it - as the only promotion we were doing was via myspace and our website, and at no time was it "cut"

I shouldn't even be responding to you, "deathwishsucks" because it is very clear you have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about - and please, the next time you decide to post news about Deathwish/Malfunction - or any of our bands, I invite you to e-mail me first -- to get your facts straight. The main reason I started posting is because Lord Shredder (or anyone) should be free to express their opinion without having to worry about some brainwashed street team jumping all over them with insults. Sharing opinions is one thing. Note that I had never commented on what Loud Shredder had said, he stated his opinion, that is fine, that is why forums exist. I have never asked any street team member to post their opinions on any board, b9, punknews, lambgoat... That is not what the street team exists for.

Posting with your opinion is totally fine with me - positive or negative. What really upsets me is someone like yourself stating things as fact about the record label and bands that I work for, when in actuality they are not true. I do not respond to these things to make anyone a fan of the label, or to try and change your mind. I just wanted to respond to your posts truthfully to let the other posters here know that the things you were writing are false and gossipy.
