the agora is the greatest venue in the history of the known universe.i hated moving from ohio cause i knew it would be a long time before i saw a show there again. never had a stabbing problem myself but i did meet a homeless guy who blew smoke from his eye and another dude offered me hash for a cigarette.....still a great place tho.

glad i'm not alone on that! i've yet to see a show at any venue that could even BEGIN to compare to the agora...such an awesome place. Technically the almost-stabbing wasn't at the agora, it was at a gas station somewhere near there...as much as i loved the agora the whole thing kind of soured me on cleveland...

Ahh, OK. Thanks. I've been to Vegas, but haven't seen too much of that part of the country. So here's one for the org: Favorite state to vacation in? Florida and California don't count. Go!

I'll take Wyoming (call me crazy). Also, having lived in Virginia for only 4 years and leaving within a year, I'd say it's a pretty awesome place. I could definately have some amazing vacations here. You have everything from mountains to beaches w/ DC nearby and some incredible history. Most of my "vacations" end up being back to Michigan though.

Yeah, I had to resist the urge to ask the tour gides where they housed the illegit children. I'm sure they get that all the time. I also liked how his wife's family and one of his blood relatives had the same name (Randolph, maybe?). The garden and the basement level (w/ the stables and wine cellars, etc.) are really cool.

It isn't because I'm selfish and want to keep them 2 feet from me at every show, its because I think they deserve better than being some article of the week. They have passion, they make me feel good and they deserve better than being the RIAA's next 'big thing'. I hope every Maria within 200 miles offers themselves up, I just don't want them shit on.

They're the best rock band since Against Me! (who were the best since Jawbreaker) and it's my vain hope that every fan they get is someone who cares and who gets it.

One of the best shows I've ever seen, I went to alone. The last couple times I almost went to shows alone, I rallied some friends at the last minute, but not friends that were much into the bands I was seeing. Kinda ended up wishing I'd have gone alone afterall. They got bored because they didn't know the songs, I ended up talking to them in the back and not really enjoying the show as much as if I would have gone alone.

Whenever people complain about bands like Good Charlotte or whatever being labeled "punk," as much as it irks me, I have to remember that's how I got into the shit in the first place. I think bands like My Chemical Bromance will inhale a ton fo people, and there will be enough people that will chomp down, dig deep, get it, and be punk for life. It's how we get new generations.

Yeah I never listened to Good Charlotte, but I think you're right. I grew up in a small town in Texas so there weren't too many punks hanging around. I would like to add that I think there are people who realize there is waaaaaaaaayyyy better music than what's on the radio and MTV, and they go searching it out. That's what happened to me after I started getting into those pop punk bands. What would I ever have done without the internet????

My gateway was the dead milkmen, before that it was mostly shit on skate videos and bad dubs from friends. I heard minor threat fucking forever before I 'listened' to minor threat, in 5th grade they were just loud and angry in my friend Seans garage, while we skated. Years later shit hit me. Dead Milkmen were like 'hey you're a dork and a dipshit? Yeah us too'.

That's why popularity and the internet and 'punkrock' are factors that don't add up anymore. Its not 'just music' and not to be taken for granted. Fuck, I'm old,slow and...drunk

Sorry man, they're just so goddamn weak. "i'm at the library, 2000 light years away kissing girls, blah, blah, blah". I'm not saying they don't have their strong points (Christie Road = ftw), and for nostalgia sake, i think they're pretty good albums. But compared to the band's later albums, there is no contest. The band hit their peak with Warning.

That's your problem, you see them as nostalgic. Those were my high school years. Those coming out when every girl I thought was amazing looked at me as if I were rocks or mailboxes.

'Time of your life' probably came out when you were in 5th grade. Not the year you got married. I'm not saying you are stupid, its just different, you don't understand.

The fact that Billie wrote "2000 Light Years" (one of their best songs, if you axe me) about the woman who is now and still his wife is pretty damn impressive. I wish I inspired someone to write a song that amazing.
