Details on the Thursday and Envy split

We've snagged some more details on the upcoming split betwixt Thursday and Envy. The seven song disc with be pressed on 180 gram vinyl and feature artwork by Don Grzeca and will include a CD in the package.

The disc will feature three originals from both bands and a remix of the Thursday track "In Silence" into "Appeared and Was Gone" by Anthony Molina of Mercury Rev. Three limited screen-printed album editions will be available exclusively through Temporary Residence's and Thursday's web stores starting September 15.

Thursday: As He Climbed the Dark Mountain
Thursday: in Silence
Thursday: an Absurd and Unrealistic Dream of Peace
Thursday: Appeared and Was Gone (Remix by Anthony Molina of Mercury Rev)
Envy: an Umbrella Fallen Into Fiction
Envy: Isolation of a Light Source
Envy: Pure Birth and Loneliness

so my best friend is getting I divorce: I´m absolutely sure that the one band that will help him the most right now is Gaslight Anthem. how can I convince him to check them out?what arguments should I use?

i'm sorry but if he's getting a fucking divorce he needs music that's more than popsongs and sort of lazy laments. i love gaslight but for heavy relationship battles, try planes mistaken for stars or sunny day real estate or something a little less jovial.

Dunno, last thing I'd really want is music that makes me dwell on shit like SDRE. I've realized that the whole "wallow in misery while listening to sad sad songs" stuff doesn't help you move on in any way.

I don't know. I partially agree with you, and then I kinda don't. A few months ago, I went through a horrible breakup of a very serious relationship (granted, a divorce is much more serious, but still...) and I did find comfort in Converge and Elliott Smith and stuff like that... but what really helped me in the end was The Gaslight Anthem, Tom Waits, and Bruce Springsteen.

No one, however, helped me more than The Gaslight Anthem. When you go through something terrible like that, what you need is confidence... and that's what Gaslight is about. All I needed was to put on Sink or Swim and suddenly I stopped feeling sorry for myself and realized I was better than all that shit... P.S. I told Brian Fallon all of this back in May at Asbury Lanes (at 1:30 in the morning when I started to get really emotional haha) and it made him really happy.

i really like how Thursday has been constantly changing, leaving island, making the last cd different than the rest. United Nations, the guitarists new side project, a split with envy. I'm stoked.

A Dead Sinking Story and then All The Footprints, early history is more hardcore/old school screamo, start to develop more post rock tendencies in the past few albums
