Jimmy Eat World: "Beautiful Day (from Yo Gabba Gabba)"

Jimmy Eat World recently visited Yo Gabba Gabba and recorded a version of their track, "Beautiful Day" for the program. As you may recall, Yo Gabba Gabba is the award-winning children's television show co-created by Christian Jacobs of The Aquabats. Previous guests have included Leslie Hall, The Shins, The Aggrolites, Cornelius, Biz Markie, Shiny Toy Guns, Supernova, Mark Mothersbaugh, Rahzel, The Postmarks, Sugarland, Tony Hawk, Low, Laila Ali, Elijah Wood, Mýa, The Salteens and Jacobs' own band, The Aquabats.

I had GI Joe, He-Man, MASK, Thundercats, Voltron and The Transformers. All of which were filled with mindless cartoon violence.

Not to mention, Sesame Street which was and still is the best kids show ever.

I was born in the 70's, but yeah shit was really fun and looked good. Battle of the Planets, Tranzor Z, silverhawks, robotech... It was all action.

The girl and I have decided we prefer DVDs to TV anyway. That way we can keep track of what they're watching and regulate the amount. I refuse to abandon my deviant sex life just because I've spawned, so they're getting turned out to go play outside a lot, not to mention the insane amount of time they're going to spend with their grandparents.

Is there a songwriter with more meaningful and ridiculously good lyrics than John K. Samson? I don't know any. The Weakerthans are making a big comeback for me this Fall (not that they ever went away). Such a Fall-into-Winter band.
