In Memoriam: Aaron Fuller of Plan 9 (-2008)

Aaron Fuller, lead singer of the Misfits-inspired punk band Plan 9, died late on Monday night in San Francisco from a motorcycle accident. While traveling home, Fuller went off the side of an overpass then died on impact. The accident is still under investigation by police who are unsure of the exact cause.

The band made a statement today:

I keep calling people to make sure it's for real and I'm not making some fucked-up mistake. If only... I know he was real happy with the new CD and was looking forward to doing gigs with us. Who knows what he would've done if he'd had the time. He was the type of person who could do whatever he set his mind to. Plan 9 was proof of that. He'd never been in a band before, or wanted to, for that matter. But he came in from day one and kicked it's ass.

. Will we carry on ..? I think so. Aaron would have wanted it that way. It was a true honor to play with him and to know and ride with him.

Our deepest condolences to Aaron's friends and family.

I've heard that someone is about 6 songs in and it's not as bad as they expected from the 4 songs they had heard before. And 2 of these 6 so far were of that 4. Every song apparently, this person says, sounds different from one another, which may have been a label pressure. They didn't want to hear "every song sounds the same". It provides good variety, which may have been a choice by the band itself.

I heard that this will get quite a number of listens, but it may just be the memories of old rise against that push that along. This person who has the leak already says they will try to ignore the 5 million emo douches that will buy the album and say they like it. Or worse... actually like it.

Wow, my, uh, friend, actually really likes it now. Massive surprise. Those 4 songs... he... had already heard aren't nearly as bad when put between the other ones. But they are still the worst 4 on the album. He says.

While it's clear that he is trying to make a point, who cares? Even if he was legitimately interested in the new Rise Against album, It's not like posting something irrelevant to the topic is tantamount to pissing on the corpse. Everyone here does it. There are enough sorrowful posts above to validate the fact that people here care. That said, I'll say this really sucks and I wish his family and friends the best.

I just found out about this band recently. It's a pretty awesome concept. The dude sounded just like Danzig. This really sucks. I was considering buying a bike instead of a car cause it would be cooler and cheaper. But stuff like this is always in the back of my mind.

I know that's probably just an expression, but how fucked up would it be to keep calling people and asking if he was really dead?

That is very unfortunate though. It's terrible that people lose their lives in such sudden accidents.
