i don't understand this tour very much at all. those are some weird towns for a band with their following to tour to. chatanooga? i havent heard shit out of chatanooga since... um. something from the mid-90s that i can't remember

i'd love to catch that asheville date, i've never seen a show in asheville, and it seems like a pretty cool place to see bands. not to mention i love that town.

oh well, i guess i get to see tiltwheel and leatherface at the fest. but would have flown to charlotte after florida and took my parents car to see them in asheville if i'd know earlier.

I imagine they're hitting Chatanooga because it's Future Virgins stomping grounds. it seems this tour is mostly to hit some other places close to florida after the Fest before all three bands have to fly back to san diego and the UK, respectively.

Tiltwheel has posted bulletins about this tour on myspace and was looking for places to play. i guess those were the first ones in the south to respond...

i guess that makes more sense.

it just seems like they could do a proper tour of big cities in the states.

i really think a lot of people would show up that had never heard of leatherface (which is pretty much everyone) if they just put a description on the bill that says like 'sounds like motorhead and husker du'. they're critically acclaimed and people would check them out.

Chatanooga has a lot of good bands (espeically if you're into Leatherface and Tiltwheel) and a really great/fun scene: ADD/C, Hidden Spots, Future Virgins, Jack Palance Band, Black Diamond Heavies, etc.

i'm from south carolina. spent a couple years in goldsboro, then graduated high school in salisbury (consider this my hometown, went to shows in winston, greensboro, charlotte, and chapel-hill back in the mid-90s, so claim those too), then school in boone, then lived in raleigh 4 years before moving to dc.

got family up in old fort, near asheville. (well, they're dead now)

i love nc.

i'll answer some questions for ya.

why isnt leatherface playing (your town here)?

theres no reasons why the tour isnt going to canadia, chicago, nyc etc other than the doods in lface and us(tiltwheel) have only so much time on holidays to be able to tour. as far as the south thing goes we all promised ten years ago or so that leatherface would play chattanooga. now making good on that promise. since lots of kids in atlanta and ashville are from chattanooga , we wanted to play there as well. we all have a large set of mutual friends in these places that the tour is taking us. would have loved to hit DC and NYC and pensacola as well. i think personally that they wanted to be here for the election.

will there be more leatherface tours?
yes and they will be the same sort of thing, short, more frequent and a few fun cities to party and look at stuff in. ask frankie nicely and they will come play. this is the 2nd tour this year, last was austin and so-cal, really short and really fun.

why is too many daves only playing two shows on the tour?
because they are the best band in the world and dont wish to ruin punk rock for everyone else.
