The Ataris plan Summer 2009 release

The recently retooled Ataris have sent us an update on progress towards their next full length. The band has been demoing at The Gallows Recording Studio and they are planning to begin recording in December at Flying Blanket Recording in Mesa, AZ which is owned and operated by Bob Hoag from the band, Pollen. The band is aiming for a Summer 2009 release.

The band also recently promised that the new album would see return to their Blue Skies, Broken Hearts - Next 12 Exits.../End is Forever-era sound. Last year, they released Welcome the Night.

Welcome the Night is the best thing they've done, I'd prefer End is Forever meets Welcome the Night because Blue Skies, Broken Hearts - Next 12 Exits just isn't as good as some people would have you believe.

I know its cool to say "the ataris are gay, blah blah blah" fuckin get over yourselves. They are an awesome band doing what they love. and I'm sure they couldn't give a rats arse about what some snotty nose, pimple infested geek has to say about them. Fuck. I don't even like them THAT much but they are doing it for themselves. Bands who write songs to please there fans are the true sell outs
