More about upcoming Beastie Boys album

Beastie Boys have performed another interview discussing their next full length. The band's last album, The Mix-Up, was a strictly instrumental affair but the new one is expected to have the group's trademark hip hop and punk mix and more... "scatological" lyrics. MCA and Mike D. explained:

It's pretty scatological, to be completely honest. There are probably more scatological lyrics on this particular album than ever before," MCA added. "If you don't know what that means, go home and look it up. Not to give too much away, but there are in-depth studies on animal behavior and their organs. Actually Beastie Boys: Animal Kingdom is really not a bad title for it - just going to put that out there.

The long-running, Hall of Fame-nominated group released their last album with vocals, To The 5 Boroughs, in 2004.

I saw them at the Y100 Feztival back in I think 2004. They didn't play any of their stuff with guitars in it, despite the fact that the radio station played a commercial over and over with clips of "No Sleep til Brooklyn," "Sabotage," etc. in it. I was so pissed and haven't forgiven the Beasties since.

I saw them around the same time and had the same experience: no guitar songs.

The show I went to was only $2 though, so I haven't held a grudge.

They also played two slots after Cypress Hill, so I'd already had my 1990's alternative hip-hop fix, thus making the whole thing more annoying.

You got fucked. You should go see them when you get the chance now though, i last saw them last summer when the mix up had just been released and the setlist was flawless. They even finished with heart attack man, needless to say it was fucking awesome. They played all good guitar stuff except for fight to your right which they apparently retired 10 years ago.

I like to think that the back story with this guy is that he was in love with Blake.

And then, Blake broke his heart by not acknowledging him at a Jawbreaker show. So now he hates Jawbreaker, because it reminds him of the time he got rejected by his one true love.
