Nothington and Action Design to open Tsunami Bomb reunion shows

As reported in September, Mike, Gabe, Matt, and Em of Tsunami Bomb will be reuniting to benefit their friend Liz from the band Lucky Strike. Liz was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and all proceeds from the show will go to her and her family.

The group have formally announced the show and confirmed that members' new bands will be opening. Agent M's new band, Action Design and Jay Northington's act Nothington will be kicking off the show. The show will be held on January 17 at the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma, Tickets go on sale today for $12 via this page.

i saw nothington saturday at the fest and holy mother of fuck, what an amazing show. this is the sort of band that only comes around every few years. i hope they stick together for a long time.

one of my highlights from this weekend was watching jay play an acoustic set in a hotel room. fucking amazing.

Yeah, Nothington is so damn good. I saw Jay play a short solo set in Austin a couple weekends ago and it was really good. He's a super nice dude too.

So, why hasn't Fat Wreck signed them yet? Don't blow this one Mike!

Shit, BYO wouldn't even put their last record out on vinyl.
How much money would they have made just from us, if that record got a vinyl release?

I listened to the first Tsunami Bomb record out of nostalgia a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't even go further than 4 songs. I remembered liking it 6 years ago, but good god...

for me it's the action design= >nothington> tsunami bomb

it depends on my mood for as to whether i like nothington more or the action design more. however, i will say both bands are superior to tsunami bomb.

My Tsunami Bomb memory is when they played here in Fargo on their 2005 tour. Crowned King first band (okay), Kane Hodder (talked to the bassist before the show about them not being let into Canada - nice guys but music sucks), the Loved Ones = amazing, and Tsunami Bomb had an awesome set. I met Agent M after the show, and I had a very pubert voice since I have a crush on her and asked for an autograph. My older friend was telling her how they should've played in a bar instead of the VFW basement. I then smoked a cigarette with Tsunami Bomb drummer, said it was a great show, but he kept disagreeing. A few months later, the band calls it a day.

I almost saw that lineup play in Hollywood, but one of the Nothington dudes thought seeing his kid get born was more important than opening for Gaslight. Jeez.
Instead we got Sangre Sangre and they sucked it up big time.

No they didn't fit at all. They were a very boring opener. You could tell the crowd just wanted to see someone that rocked.
That was my first time seeing Gaslight and they were fucking incredible.

I think the album with Bat Country was really good. They have obvious talent, and those melodies were anything BUT generic. They were like 7 minute songs, but I never got bored with them.
