Sum 41 plans "Greatest Hits" album... for Japan

Popular Canadian punk band Sum 41 are apparently planning a new Greatest Hits record. The disc appears to be a Japan-only release and will feature one new song, "Steering Wheels," as well as seventeen songs and a DVD compiling the band's music videos.

Don't these guys only have 2 records? What's the point of this? Even for a japanese only release, greatest hits packages are largely worthless.

Punk seems to be a lot more popular in Japan then it is anywhere else. Nofx plays to 18000 people in Tokyo, Rancid draws massive crowds, fuck, i even heard Mest is able to draw a crowd there.

NOFX doesn't headline to 18,000 people. They play festivals in front of that many people, but so don't a lot of bands in Europe, Japan, etc. Rancid doesn't play places a lot bigger than places they play in the states.
