More legal problems for United Nations, the project featuring Geoff Rickly from Thursday, Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw and Head Automatica, Chree from the The Number Twelve Looks Like You and Kiss It Goodbye's Eric Cooper.
Apparently, the "real" United Nations, the one made up of the representatives of the world's nations, isn't a fan of the band's use of the name and had their Facebook profile deleted. You can see the notice here. The band released their self-titled debut earlier this year. Though originally described as a "grind" side project, many have drawn comparisons to early screamo outfits like Saetia and the Gravity Records roster. Eyeball Records (70 comments)

hey guys, the 'real' UN is doing us all a favor. clearly they have taste enough in music to correctly judge the quality of this band and the power enough to do something about them. 2+ Replies

This band isn't too bad, and that's really lame of the United Nations... the world reps. 2+ Replies

As part of the response, the United Nations is forming a committee to decide how many laws the band is breaking, how they should be punished and to publicly condemn them. 2+ Replies

I like Saetia and Gravity Records and the "real" UN. I haven't listened to enough of the band to make a judgement yet.

Damn UN. They're too busy focusing on screwing with a band than the real issues. 2+ Replies

I would really like for the UN to pass a resolution on this, like all of them sitting in their conference room going 'fuck, couldn't we at least get that guy from the Cro-Mags to steal our name?' and ultimately green-lighting the carpet bombing of California.... Only for the GOVERNATOR to strike back with his NEW band, Warsawpact.

This tickles me in a way that if Loretta were to tickle me like that, I would say, "Oh. That's nice."
