United Nations (Thursday, Glassjaw) vs United Nations (France, China, Belgium)

More legal problems for United Nations, the project featuring Geoff Rickly from Thursday, Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw and Head Automatica, Chree from the The Number Twelve Looks Like You and Kiss It Goodbye's Eric Cooper.

Apparently, the "real" United Nations, the one made up of the representatives of the world's nations, isn't a fan of the band's use of the name and had their Facebook profile deleted. You can see the notice here.

The band released their self-titled debut earlier this year. Though originally described as a "grind" side project, many have drawn comparisons to early screamo outfits like Saetia and the Gravity Records roster.

The UN does a lot for the world especially considering the relatively small size of its budget and constraints put on them by international law and custom. So basically, you're wrong.

The thing is, the UN are way too slow in their reactions, I can come up with a lot of conflicts where they could have do something but didn't. That's what I mean when I call them bureaucratic assholes, lots of people have to die before these goons take action.

They are muck like a modern 'League of Nations'.

Thats because the UN is not a government in the sense that we're used too. Everything the UN does is totally dependent on the actions of the states involved. Especially the permanent 5. When the states themselves decide that they don't want to act then the UN is basically crippled. This is why the U.S. needs to increase UN involvement instead of ignoring it. Only by showing a commitment to it can the UN be effective.

As part of the response, the United Nations is forming a committee to decide how many laws the band is breaking, how they should be punished and to publicly condemn them.

And then they are not going to do anything else about it.
