Oh yeah, sorry! So my advice for you is to learn songs by ear. I learned from my Jazz teacher that transcribing is one of the best ways of learning different styles (it jams into your brain, believe me) and actual physical improvement. You don't even have to read music, just learn by ear. It may seem like simple advice, but believe me, it's one of the best ways.

Here's how I used to motivate myself to write a paper.

Stay up for a couple days straight chain smoking and drinking coffee non-stop. When the spiders start crawling along the walls and floor looking real hungry, you'll have that paper done in no time at all.
