Sublime reuniting with new vocalist?

Although Sublime effectively dissolved after the death of vocalist Bradley Nowell in May of 1996, sources are reporting that the surviving members of the band have been working with a new vocalist and are in fact planning to perform at Bamboozle 2009. The festival organizers hinted at such a reunion in a recent "word game" splash page.

Other acts hinted in the scramble include NOFX, Maroon Five, Gorilla Biscuits and Britney Spears. Sublime's self-titled major label full length, Sublime was a huge commercial success thanks to songs like What I Got", "Santeria", "Wrong Way", "Doin' Time", "April 29, 1992 (Miami)" and "Caress Me Down." The record sold five million copies and even received the deluxe treatment in 2006.

it's true. bud and eric are fine musicians, but they were lucky as hell to be in a band with someone of bradley's calibre. he was an untouchable singer, guitarist, and songwriter. this could only be passable if the new dude just mimics everything about bradley to a t.

yea, if you like music that the majority of your friends complain about, like me, it's always good to have sublime to fall back on. there's something to be said for music that a roomful of people with very different taste in music will all sing along to. many good memories with sublime throughout my life.

In my experience the Long Beach Dub All Stars didn't really cover the Sublime hits. They did all sublime songs but not their hit songs. And the lead singer was a douche of epic proportions.

If that was 2000, there were a number of problems with him on that tour. I sold shirts and they had instances of him getting stupid drunk and yelling at people backstage. He even ran into some of the girl bands at truck stops between shows and harassed them. I think it was the Lunnachicks who were in an RV type thing and he actually started running into the side and rocking it when they wouldn't come out at a truck stop.

i really don't think this is a bad idea. definitely a million times better than all the various bands i've seen at grad parties and bars playing what i got between covers of nickelback and metallica. as long as they don't try to release anything new i am behind this. we need sublime in the world again to bring people together.

this just seems wrong for so many reasons...but mainly because bradley was the main heart and soul behind not so much the sound, but the songs of this band, and he really was the one who made them sublime songs...i mean, as much as i love long beach dub all-stars, they never could capture what they had with sublime... it's just wrong
