The Matches set to begin demos for New Album

Pop-punk band The Matches are going to be heading to the studio soon to start demoing for the follow up to this year's A Band in Hope. It was announced on the band's blog:

We're soon heading back to the studio to begin demos for our next album. What do you think the next Matches record will be like? What do you want it to be like? Are your premonitions compatible with your wishes?

The record should be released on Epitaph Records in 2009.

It's even more perfect for me because I'm really tall and all legs as well as skinny. It's a shame it's so expensive, because it really is the only place I can find jeans with a 28 waist and a 34 inch inseam. But it's worth it to not look ridiculous I guess. Also a shame that the sizing is so inconsistent, ordering online is like playing a very expensive lottery.

There first album was amazing, but they have really gone downhill since then. A band in hope sounds nothing like E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals.

But isn't the whole point of being a musician to get better with each album? What's the point in sounding the same over and over again? It might work for NOFX, but that doesn't mean that everyband has to stay the same.

Agreed..the quote "it sounded nothing like E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals", really shows you how people think...they already made that record!..feel the same way when i hear that Thrice needs to make another Illusion of Safety

Love them a lot. I used ti hate the shit out of them for the "Chain Me Free" video, but then I heard their song on the A Santa Cause cd and loved it. Decomposer is better than the rest of their stuff, though.

The first album was actually kind of interesting, I liked what they did with the whole pop punk formula. I heard the single off the second album and it sounded fairly poor, was it worth chasing up?
