According to a report from Fox News, Travis Barker of Blink 182 and Plus 44 has filed a lawsuit against two companies that he alleges were responsible for the tragic plane crash which killed four people and critically injured Barker and DJ AM.
Barker is suing Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, which owned the Learjet which crashed, and an aeroplane maintenance company. Barker is asking for $25,000 for pain and suffering, disfigurement, loss of earnings plus medical and legal expenses. The lawsuit claims that the plane's pilots were not properly trained and that the Learjet was "defective." Universal Music Group (110 comments)

Usually I think people who sue tend to not deserve it or demand too much $, but in this case $25,000 actually seems low. His medical expenses must have been through the roof, and the dude makes a lot of money drumming and probably would have made more than that had he been playing this whole time.

Really? this guy is able to walk away from this plane crash and is now suing alleging the now dead pilots were poorly trained? Thats fucking great, great for the families of those 2 pilots. Apparently he is doing this without the finalized report from the safety board. Glad he is able to act on his own volition with his lawyers whispering in his ears. The lawsuit is also alleging that santa claus isnt real.

it seems that in law suits they usually through as much shit in as they can and see how much of it sticks. and in reality at least he isnt suing for 25 million.

Well, I think it's reasonable to sue for the defective plane. Don't know about the pilots though. And don't say this is just for money. Travis Barker does not need 25,000 dollars. Still not sure how i feel about this though.

Travis Barker is a pussy. He walked away from that crash and now he's sueing because of something he has no idea about. He doesn't know anything about those pilots training or the aerodynamics of the plane----let alone if they weather was a factor in the crash.

you know, when i read the title, I was about to be all "rich dude, you need no more money, stop being a rich asshole", but 25,000? Thats not even gonna reimburse him for the medical costs. Maybe this is either to open it up for the families of the deceased to sue and get some money or to make a statement. Either way, cheers Travis. I go back on my intended statement.

this is sort of a principle thing. victims of these types of accidents are sort of expected to take some sort of legal action because there is almost always a party to blame (for example, had the learjet been properly inspected before this, it probably would not have occurred). This is not particularly for the sake of recouping his losses - think about it, nothing's going to bring back the two pilots, che and little chris. It's just a matter of making legal action in order to make the accident an official matter. That probably also gives you an idea as to why he's only asking for $25,000. Travis Barker obviously does not need the money, this is probably just standard procedure and was probably suggested to him by his attorney.
