New Pornographers stream full concert

Vancouver, BC's The New Pornographers were recently filmed during their show in Sydney, Australia at The Annandale Hotel. The website Moshcam was in attendance and have posted the entire set to their website.

Earlier this year, de facto frontman for the goup, A.C. Newman, spoke about writing for a new New Pornographers album. The group released Challengers last year through Matador Records.

They are talented but I can't get through a full record. Twin Cinema was fun though. I prefer Ms Case.

Did you hear their last record, Challengers? It's an epic grower. I didn't like it at first, but it became more classic to me the more I listened to it. It's good music for calming down after a fight.

I loved it. I certainly mean no insult to New Pornographers when I say I prefer Neko Case; they are both atop the heap of popular indie bands out there, but I just can't get enough of Neko Case's voice, it's amazing.

Look at that. The new pornographers article had three posts at the time. Punknews readers would literally rather talk about nothing than most bands reported on here. The comment count potential of that stream was enormous.

Yea, i've been meaning to say that actually, look at the Wardogs post as an example. Over 200 posts atm, and you'd struggle to find 5 that make any serious reference to the band.

it Dresden Dolls, Flatliners, Chuck & Ben are probably the only ones I really like, Casey Prestwood or whatever's is good too. The rest are kind of meh.

Those were the only ones I liked too, The Gaslight one just hit me though.

I just listened to 'madagascar' off Chinese Democracy, its awful in a way that it should have been the intro song to a Timothy Dalton Bond movie.

I wonder what was going through Axl's mind when he decided that 1) almost all the songs should be about how it's not crazy to spend 14 years making an album, and 2) why every part where he's not singing it crammed with guitar solos and pianos.

Chinese Democracy has doen something strange to me. I used to really dislike G n R but this album is just so awful that I actually think I appreciate the old stuff in a new way. I saw a review for Chinese Democracy in the free paper you get at the subway and the reviewer gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I wonder what sort of qualifications it takes to write for that paper.

I liked a couple of The New Pornographers' songs, but then every time I'd e flipping through the channels it spanish techno would be playing as background music to a show called Falcon Beach. Now I associate this band with that shitty show.
