Glassjaw: "You Think You're John F*cking Lennon"

Glassjaw have posted the first track from their long-awaited new album. The song is titled "You Think You're John Fucking Lennon" and will appear on the new record. Guitarist and songwriter Justin Beck has promised the record soon, but has remained elusive about the contents and other details of the record.

You can find the song on glassjaw.net.

If you're not hearing the song, just wait a few moments after the extended "intro" to the song.

The song itself is on glassjaw.com, not glassjaw.net (the fan site). The drum loop lasts for a minute and a half, then the song kicks in.

Ugh and fuck my roommates. One only listens to symphonic music and electronica and thinks he's superior because of it, the other only listens to bad mainstream hip-hop and had never seen a vinyl record prior to meeting me.

white lightning (aka "tramp's delight"/"tramp's piss"/"what the fuck is this, meths?!"), most of a 3 litre bottle while sat in a park in the middle of the day with a few mates, due mostly to the fact that my the only one of my mates who was there at the time that liked it was too busy eating her fella's face to drink any of it. so i proceeded to get nice and buzzed and marvel at how i could turn my head 90degrees only for my vision to follow a second or two later. my friends later tried to abandon me in the toilets at mcdonalds. bastards. i was about 14, and i sobered up surprisingly quickly.

Riffage is a bit more EYEWTKAS-oriented, while the vocals are a bit more "Pink Roses"-esque.

Lots of Deftones influence. Really good track.

I agree, this band has always been influenced by The Defontes and in turn Finch has always been influence by Glassjaw, wish all three of them would tour together.

Deftones and Glassjaw was one of the best shows I have ever seen.

I have never heard Glassjaw, but I like a lot of hardcore, so I listened to it.

I could not help picturing the image of a 20-30 pound overweight stripper dancing to this song and gazing indifferently back at a nodding truckdriver who slowly beckons her with vertically folded $1 bill.

In other words, this is what you call "stripper rock." Disturbed, Slipknot, and "other my dad abused me music" also comes to mind

Thats a pretty ignorant post. You state you have never listebned to Glassjaw and then go ahead and categorize them in the same pile with Slipknot and Disturbed based off one four minute songs.

Too bad GJ sounds nothing like either of those bands you mentioned in any way, shape, or form, outside of them all using guitars.

Why don't you actually listen to a more than one of a bands songs before lumping them in with other bands, what a stupid categorization.

I wouldn't even put slipknot and disturbed into the same category in the first place..And neither this song nor any of Glassjaw's catalog sound remotely like either of those.

Darryl's spastic almost unrehearsed sounding vocals has always really set them apart and i think his scream actually sounds more brutal (Bro word, i know) than it did on "Every You Ever..."

i'm from florida. i was on tour in 2000 in montreal actually, it was legal for me to drink there so after we played the show (at a club called L'X) we went across the street to this huge bar thing, the bathrooms were downstairs, and i think there were a couple of levels to the bar... i want to say it was painted blue.. i dunno it was dark, i was 18, and i was drunk!!! La Bleue or something...
