Travis Barker denies Blink-182 reunion rumors

Though the formerly estranged members of Blink 182 are talking again, drummer Travis Barker has quashed any rumours of reunion. According to an MTV report, the drummer was recently asked if Blink are getting back together.

"No," he says. "We're friends, though, everyone's getting along pretty good." He is then asked again if the group is getting back together: "No," he says. Barker and DJ AM will make their first performance since the crash on New Year's Eve in Los Angeles, it was announced on Monday.

Even the biggest Jawbreaker fans were underwhelmed by Jets To Brazil. Blake, now 5 or so years older, slower, and stranger... you guys are in for a big letdown with The Thorns Of Life.

Panned by Critics means jack-shit to me. I don't think this will be around long, that I'll give you, still wouldn't mind seeing it. Like all Cometbus projects it will at least get an ep.

Not a single principal among them (I've counted) has left to do something reasonable and constructive like teach creative writing, only to later attempt to come back to writing music, relying only on reputation.

Why do you think Blake asked Cometbus to be in his band anyway? He knew he doesn't have it anymore, so he's hoping the two reputations together will let him make money.

It's an exercise in patience. Like Dane Cook. He got to be "cool" and "underground" through his genius Internet marketing campaign. Then when he got a huge amount of exposure, he made money like nobody's business.

Blake and Cometbus are doing the same thing. Play house shows, become "legends" among scenesters who want to look cool by helping to promote them. Then explode and grab the falling cash!

When I was home for Thanksgiving, one of my friends burned 25 Zappa albums onto a DVD-R for me. I am in heaven right now.

Some of his stuff is too off the deep end for me (Absolutely Free, Lumpy Gravy), but most of it is solid.

Haven't gotten around to checking out Zappa plays Zappa yet.

My favorites are Hot Rats, The Grand Wazoo, and Waka/Jawaka in no particular order. I'd never heard Chunga's Revenge until now, but that will probably make the list as well. I guess I just like his crazy jazz-fusion type stuff the best. Freak Out is great as well, as are Apostrophe/Overnite (that goes w/out saying).
