One of my long-lost friends went to get a sleeve done. His idea was to have the skin peeling away and to see machinery and robot-stuff inside. The dude worked on it for hours, then said, I'm sorry, I can't do this and quit.

It's fucking horrible and I wish I had a picture, he wears long-sleeves a lot. I imagine it could be fixed, but it sucks... and he's had it a good 8 years.

fuckin right man, this is terrible. my band used to cover this, and one time we did it, the guitar went horribly out of tune for some reason, and my voice was fucked with a cold, and the lead came out of my bass halfway though. it was a fucking disaster, but even that was better than this prick.

i like this song, and i like the alkaline trio, but does it really surprise you that some crappy mall rock band is covering this song? this shit could've easily been written by dashboard confessionals or saves the day or any other super corny band.

hwm's version of this is way better than the original, btw.

i live about a 3 minute drive from Studio B. i've driven to philly three times in the past year and we've made the trip in less than 2 hours 4/6 times (there and back)

Staten Island. It was the first time I'd driven there, though, and we got a little screwed up finding the place because it wasn't marked at all. We also got on the PA turnpike in the wrong direction at first, which didn't help matters.

Studio B is really, really hard to find. I've only been to one show there, and I walked, and it was six degrees outside and i got really lost. then the show sucked, and the atm at the venue was broken so i had to walk like 10 minutes to get cash to drink to stay warm.

so fuck that place.

Andrew was energetic as ever. He was there with (I believe) his new wife. He sang "Louie Louie" with the Pharmacists to kick off karaoke. He introduced all of the singers, and having him introduce me to play with Ted Leo was almost unreal. I am huge fans of both.

During karaoke they did all the songs on the list that was out - minus The Who - plus a handful of Ted Leo songs and an impromptu version of "Hybrid Moments" by the Misfits. There was this dude who did "Search and Destroy" shirtless and with all of Iggy Pop's stage moves, and another guy who did an amazing version of "Suspect Device." Awesome night!

Too bad about no Who playing (they're Gods in my world). And I can totally see Andrew W.K. doing "Louie Louie". I mean.... every song he does is about partying.

So I guess Ted Leo + the Pharmacists came through town without me hearing about it and when he did his cover of "Dancing In The Dark" some dude there yelled out "Worst song lyrics ever!" Ted Leo then defended the Boss. I guess the dude didn't know it was a cover.

Wow! He complimented me after I sang (obligatory, but still) and again after the show when I talked to him. I was beyond flattered, and apparently other people noticed he liked me. Giddy schoolgirl-ish moment. There's an ugly, ugly picture of me on there, too. I'm the fat guy in mid-air wearing the Elvis Costello shirt.

First, it's just wrong to hear Radio being sung with such a girly voice.

Second, if I was a fan of this band I would love to hear them cover one of the greatest songs ever. The people look like they're standing around crying. I don't know, maybe that is the response to all of this guy's songs. He does seem to fit the 'emo loser' stereotype.
