"I think the next step is a Social Distortion studio album, and I'm very inspired right now. Every time I take time off and I do this, it makes it fun to come back to Social D and visa versa. You go out and you do stuff that's different and eventually you feel yourself wanting to play a little more aggressive – so it's a great balance."Ness, who last released two solo albums, Cheating At Solitaire and Under The Influences both in 1999, has been doing a solo tour off and on all year. The upcoming Social Distortion record still has no official title or release date, but is expected to drop around mid to late 2009 and will be their first in five years, since 2004's Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll. I remember seeing him at sxsw year ago behind Cheating At Solitaire and he had The Reverend Horton Heat as his back up band....he needs to pull that shit again because it was fucking money. 2+ Replies

Despite the overwhelming criticism this band receives, this album will be a very enjoyable one. Sure, they might not have many tricks left up their sleeve, but what they do, they do very well. He's been writing a long time for this, so I have no worries.
