Sex Pistols investigated in Ireland (in 1978)

State papers released just yesterday after thirty years reveal that the Irish government saw the Sex Pistols as such a significant threat to "Irish morals" that the band was targetted for investigation at the highest levels of the Irish government. reports The Guardian.

In an era when the IRA was in an intense campaign of bombings and assassinations, the Garda Síochána targeted the band, drawn to them by their "obscene" title: Never Mind The Bollocks...
