am i the only one that thinks this band sounds like some kids that were into thursday and thrice heard a couple bigwig, strike anywhere, and rise against records and found their "new" sound?

its not awful. but its not that great either. i don't really get the big deal, but i haven't heard the whle record either.

Are you a musician? Not to sound elitist, but I find it hard to believe a musician can't recognize the "greateness" in their compositions and layering. Yeah, they have like two songs that sounds like bigwig/strike anywhere. I hear no thursday or thrice.

Yeah, such a bummer, should've gone with Equal Vision instead..

But alas, maybe 8 different pre-ordering packages and limited t-shirts is the direction they wanted to go and for that they've found their perfect home.

Deathwish used to be so damn good when it wasn't just a cliché label.

I ain't going to knock Bridge 9 because they not only put out some of my favorite hardcore bands, they're a pretty hardworking label. Sure, I think the 8 different pre-ordering and stuff is kind of lame, but what other hardcore label can offer that sort of promotion? As far as "punk," I guess they're pretty lame, but them as a label is doing an incredible job.

Don't get me wrong, i think i've owned 90% of the records they released before late '04 at one time or another, but since they started signing the bigger, already established bands they definently wussed out. They used to be one of those labels that you could just buy a new release of without hearing the band before if you were in the mood for some pretty gnarly hardcore that didn't try to be more than it was but did really excelled in that little field.

I don't give a fuck how diy they are, hell, i've bought into every little "crazy scheme" of 31g and I probably always will, it just that Bridge 9 lost its greatness when they started signing bands people already knew. We're talking about a band who famously signed alot of bands, not from demos, but from seeing them play their second/third show and immideatly taking a chance because of their potential.

They put out their first record last year -- they really aren't as well known as you think. Also, I've seen PBC live. They play the way hardcore bands SHOULD play. I really think record labels should not be afraid to branch out.

Ah fuck, I obviously meant to say bridge 9 at the end, sorry.
