"Punk Goes Pop 2" delayed, adds Chiodos

Fearless Records has pushed back the release of Punk Goes Pop 2 to March 10, 2009. They have also confirmed the addition of a new cover, coming from Chiodos. The band will be covering Harvey Danger's hit "Flagpole Sitta." (this song)

They deserved to be so much more than one-hit-wonders. Their last album was great, and I'm pretty sure its pay-what-you-can release predated even those bands who claim their idea predated Radiohead and the like.

HEY, A LEGIT CRITIQUE!

Looking at the current list I see the same issue as exists with the Silverstein cover, these songs aren't going to be that different from the original. Maybe a chorus will be screamed and not song or it's a guy singing a girls lyrics (likely like a girl) but it's not a "new take" on these songs. It's not a punk band taking a song that's unpopular in punk circles and throwing a punk twist on it to show that the universal elements of a "good" song are the same and can be enjoyed by anyone. It's a band playing a pop song that "punks" who buy this is already enjoy but claim to hate to maintain cred.

you make a strong case, i can't deny that. however, the omission of any reference to the name of an obscure or otherwise vintage album and the inclusion of the word "bah" undermine your legitimacy. sorry kid, maybe if you mature a little and work on your writing you'll get a job writing reviews and interviewing bands.
