Fall Out Boy: "Simpsons Theme"

Fall Out Boy recently performed their own version of the famous theme song from The Simpsons. The show's producers have put the song online and you can check it out here.

The band is the latest in a long line of bands to tackle the theme. Previous versions were recorded by Sonic Youth, Phish, Green Day and Yo La Tengo.

While I do agree with you, this season had one breakout episode, 'the burns and the bees' it was a lisa-centric episode, but it was fucking awesome.

The episode last night was one of the 5 worst in the shows history.

I can only imagine how bad it was. I remember for a few seasons, all the episodes were about were either Home and Marge fixing their marriage OR something stupid with Lisa being liberal and shit.

yep, last nights episode was lisa and her british friend writing a novel about a fictional fantasy place called 'equalia' with a character named 'helvetica'. lots of fairies and dragons and lame lame lame visuals.

I could go into details, but it's making my stomach hurt.

There are a lot of bad ones, but I wish these never existed

Abe and Patty dating, I changed the station after the first three minutes. Homer and medicinal marijuana was alright until Mr. Burns got involved. What Homer and his mom episode is that you're talking about? When I read the Flanders thing, I thought of the organic juice where he trips out and sees that, the hammers from The Wall and the Rolling Stones lips.

You know what episodes never have hippies to my knowledge? The Treehouse of Horror episodes! They are the only ones I make an effort to catch, but damn... they can be pretty terrible lately, except this seasons.

I think we have all forgotten the all-singing clip show. I detest Simpsons clip shows. Maybe it traumatized you all so bad that you have blocked it out of your memories?

Also, theres hardly any meat in these gym mats.

The Bees one was amazing. I actually thought it was an older episode by how good it was. It was like, "Actual story, check. Story that goes somewhere, check. Good jokes, check." It was amazing.

Yeah I hear you. I do that too sometimes if it really is that bad. Also, I agree that episode sucked very hard.

My local Fox channel seems to have an obsession with only playing Simpson reruns from the 90s, so it's hard for me to develope a disinterest in the show when I can still watch good episodes on a regular basis.

I think it peaked circa 6-8, but seasons 3-10 are more or less flawless. I'll probably pick up season 11 if I see it used at a good price, as it has some classics (along with some stinkers).

I just think it's at the point where there's not much else they can do with the characters except shit all over them.

I might be alone here, but the movie didn't do much for me, I fell asleep during it. It wasn't bad there wasn't much to keep me interested. Which sucks because I really wanted it to be great.

I think everyone who has watched it since the early to mid 90's thinks that, I know I do anyways. In my opinion the show hasn't been relevant since Phil Hartman died.

Also, it's about time that the writers killed off another character. Who do you think it should be? My vote is for Barney, I think he lost his impact years ago...by that I mean they haven't written any good bits for him in a long while. Some of his old lines are classics though.

Ok fine, I'll be the rebel here. It sounds to me like the band nailed it, honestly. For a four-piece band attempting to emulate Danny Elfman... that sounded pretty decent to me.
