This is the best audio we've gotten out of this project, hard to complain...unless you are Jawbreakersucks in which case you are going to show up with some reference to Chamberlain and how he relates to decoding the inner fabric of the ear canal.

I love Jawbreaker, and I know they may be the holy grail of orgcore but really, it doesn't get posted when other bands have shitty videos of them taken live.

Yeah, but this is the first 'clear' versions of the songs that most anybody outside of these shows have heard.

I'd say it's warranted, and not just because I'm looking forward to the tangible release.

The dudes from Green Day make a fart and it gets news, same with the dudes from Less Than Jake and their other bands, not to mention Bemis and his abortion like projects.

there's only a few videos from this show, because after the 4th or 5th song, they actually asked everyone to put away their cameras. the following show in LA, blake was clearly bitter, ranting about youtube.

Am I the only one who is a big Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil fan who thinks this completely sucks and is a HUGE regression. I think the only reason people like this band is the people in it. Other than that most people would think this sucks. I would be way happier if Blake just went back to writing Randy Newman pop ballads again instead of trying to connect with himself from 20 years ago when he can't write those type of songs anymore. Besides he did that better with 2 other dudes who are just sitting around right now...

I think we're forgetting a main point here, Blake and a lesbian aren't the only people in this band. Are you fucking orgers seriously not familiar with the brilliance that is Aaron Cometbus!?? I like Hot Water Music and Gaslight as much as the next guy but c'mon..Cleveland Bound Death Sentence? Pinhead Gunpowder? Astrid Otto, Retard Beaters, Crimpshrine!? He not only does amazing things with a Ride Cymbal but he also writes lyrics and gives an amazing certain feel to everything he's involved in. Him combined with Blake, not just in lyrics but the two musical styles is amazing. If you can't tell, I'm a fan of this.

I couldn't disagree more. The last two Jawbreaker records are amazing, the first Jets to Brazil record was a masterpiece, the second OK, and the last one was terrible. I don't understand how this could be considered a regression. If anything he is progressing as an artist as he gets older, is probably more comfortable being himself, and doing what he does best. I didn't know that there is an age limit on writing punk songs.

I'm excited that Blake is playing punk again. Jets became kind of a drag after awhile. I'm a little disappointed that there weren't any backing vocals from the female bassist (could've sounded cool) but other than that, I'll withhold judgment until I can hear a recording and hear what Blake has to say.

Most long-running artists go through periods when they "mature" into something that eventually seems too overblown and baroque. So they strip it down and "regress."

Write a letter complaining to the band, or just don't listen. I'm not super keen on it either, but I take what I can get.

Not to beat this into the ground but I always thought the 2nd and the 3rd Jets to Brazil records sounded forced. Kind of like a band trying not to repeat themselves but not really knowing what direction to go either so they just ended up very bland with songs that were not very memorable.

However, as I stated above, I believe that Orange Rhyming Dictonary is a materpiece.

I saw them two nights ago in SF at The Hemlock, it was great. They booked an entire tour and are doing their best to not tell people about it.
Silver Sprocket will be hosting a free vegan bbq for people in line at the Gilman show Saturday with the usual sidewalk chalk and games.

Man I didn't think they were ever gonna post this story. The videos have way better sound quality than the older ones, but what pisses me off is the people talking while the band is playing.

I love Cometbus and everything musical he's done (the simpler and dumber the better), but he always strikes me as a little off-time and over-reaching. It's like he's too into it to give a crap about a steady tempo.

Conversely, though, maybe one of the main reasons he rocks so fucking hard.

haha, it's actually quite obvious during some of the slower songs that he's very fidgety behind the drum kit, just waiting til he can bust out again. As someone else already mentioned, their sound has changed quite a bit already since those first brooklyn shows. If they continue to 'evolve' into something more Jets-esque, I don't see aaron staying in the band.
