ISIS' "Wavering Radiant" track listing & cover art revealed

Isis have announced more details about their new full length. The record is titled Wavering Radiant and is due out May 5, 2009. It is their first new full length since 2006's In the Absence of Truth.

As reported earlier, the album will feature Tool guitarist Adam Jones performing on two tracks.

don't know how i feel about this "kinder, gentler, more arty post-rock" isis. i mean, they couldn't write huge, crushing riffs forever, but i'm just not feeling this stuff as much as say, celestial, panopticon or even oceanic.

apparently the new pelican shit destroys though. i haven't heard it myself, but i've heard it's way better than the last album.

the last album was fucking horrible. i don't think i'll listen to pelican again until they fire the drummer (or at least drop him down in the mix, it ruined any goodness to be had on the last one)

Pelican's getting more and more post-rock too. Rosetta's a good alternative.

rosetta are badass, i'll give you that.

but i really enjoy ISIS' more recent material, "in the absence of truth" has a creepy atmosphere to it that i've yet to find in any other record.

also, check out "quietly" by mouth of the architect if you're into old ISIS/rosetta.

Yeah, Quietly is good. I love a lot of things about In the Absence of Truth, but I don't like the way he sings on it.

'Quitely' is way weaker than 'The Ties That Blind.' Especially if your'e doing Pelican comparisons. The Rosetta/Balboa split is raw! Aaron's art's getting more and more dumbed down. Not impressed.

I agree. Why is it that since the guest appearance and Isis/Tool dates......Isis fans are ignorant if they aren't into the whole Tool worship thing. I have loved Isis forever and i don't give a rip about Tool and never will.

The album cover oddly has the same look as Pelican's last album, with those squiggly seaweedish designs growing from the bottom of the cover.

So who else in Canada is losing their American tv next week? Its stupid because I live 45 minutes outside of Toronto, and 10-15 mins outside smaller cities, and guess what I still can't get internet or cable. People a kilometre up the road have cable as well, so why don't they think and bring it up here too, all my neighbours would get it. They got this stuff up in Algonquin, but of course here I can't get anything!
