Jimmy Eat World and Neko Case are among the featured artists for Rock Band 2 next week. The game will feature three tracks from JEW: "Futures," "Lucky Denver Mint" and "Sweetness" and Neko Case's "People Got a Lot of Nerve."

Also added to the game next week are Drive By Truckers, Lucinda Williams, Old 97s and Steve Earle.

In all seriousness, there is truly a noticeable difference between the stuff we've recorded prior using Garage Band and the sound on a cassette. I don't know shit when it comes to sound and recording, but even I can hear the fullness of he sound. It's pretty cool.

Also, how do you define "award winning?" The People's Choice Awards and whatever Nickelodean hands out don't really count.

Faulkner sucks and I'm glad he hates Maryland. If he weren't dead I'd find him and yell "HEY FOGHORN LEGHORN YOU WERE WAY TOO CONVINCING WRITING ABOUT RETARDS IN THE FIRST PERSON!" Then I'd ask him how Barton Fink was doing and if he could direct me to the nearest Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I too judge people based on their character. I judge them if they have profound character flaws such as thinking that Say Anything is a good band, or that Max Bemis is the conductor on the Crazy Town Express, or thinking that his forced, terrible rhymes are the result of time signatures and not being artistically bankrupt. Those kind of character flaws. Also being 19 and having a myspace that looks like an AIDS bomb was detonated on it.

You know the best part of this whole thing for you? You're getting The Beemeister to write a song about you and the girlfriend who's either 1) going to dump you because you're 19 and that shit never works out or 2) chain yourself to your high school sweetie which, by the time you're forty and fat and balding and having bratty kids run around you'll be unable to decide whether you want to stick the gun in your mouth or hers. Then you can listen to your crappy acoustic "you make my heart swell/because you're so swell/and your love/came from above" song and cry bitter, angry tears that the $150 you blew could have been spent on a LOT of whiskey. A terrible lyric ("I called her on the phone and she touched herself," for example) is a lot cooler than a high score.

I just want Guitar Rising to hurry up and release for the PC already. You use a real guitar and it shows you how to play real songs, as well as exercises. At least you would REALLY be learning the instrument better and not just learning how to press buttons really fast.
