Dead Milkmen plan new material

The Dead Milkmen have announced that they will continue their reunion run with an April 17th show in Brooklyn, NY. According to Dean Clean's blog post and captions from their rehearsal's Flickr photos, the band may also be producing some new material. They had this to say:

We had so much fun last November at the Fun Fun Fun Festival that we've decided to keep at it and play some shows to see what might develop as far as new material. We're rehearsing and will see how it goes - stay tuned…

In the era of of transparency, I'd like to explain why the 12"s are $12ppd: The vinyl record itself, whether it has 3 songs on it or 20, costs the same amount of money to make - cost for us is around $7. Shipping within the US (if I use media mail) for a 12" is usually around $3. On top of that, paypal takes about half a buck (and 99% of the orders I get are through paypal.) Any dollar this band has ever made has been honest. We never made enough money to live off this band. So for anyone who thinks we're taking you, the record buying public for a ride, kindly go fuck yourself" -The Ergs

usually with reunion shows i'm skeptical (seen one too many "soul brains" messes i think) but this could be really cool. the milkmen were the first punk band i ever heard when i was like 12 or 13, which was 89 or 90.

this is jawesome. one of the few bands that i still like that i liked in 8th grade. low budgets were awesome, so is talcum's solo material so this should be good.

this is huge news! I have found however that the milkmen have a greater following among small town punks than big city folk. despite being from philly i think they speak to the kids who grew up with no scene.
