Reset, a Montreal-area punk band which saw two members go on to form Simple Plan, will be reforming for a one-off show celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Quebec's Musiqueplus Television Station. While Reset continued with a new lineup, the show will include the No Worries-era linup, with Pierre, Chuck, Phil and J-S.

Speaking of bands from Montreal...

I'm addic-I'm addicted to you.

no worries was a killer album. i loved reset, so much back in the day. i'd totally go to this show if i didnt live halfway across the country.

Anyone use Twitter? im thinking about doing an account involving my "exclusive" (read: fake) Tyler Perry news.
baldsteve (March 2, 2009)
This Just In: Remember those dudes nobody gave a fuck about that formed that band that sucked the life out of the already bland mall-punk genre?
RamblinBoyOfPleasure (March 2, 2009)
Their cover of "simple man" is amazing.

I should be doing autopsy reports but instead I'm here reading Simple Plan related news. What the fuck is wrong with my life?
mikexdude (March 2, 2009)
Simple Plan is pretty generic and bland, but god, "Addicted" is a good song. Fight me.
cheesetits (March 2, 2009)
What's worse, the mall pop punk of the early 2000's or their spawn of the late 2000's?
scorpiondeathlock (March 2, 2009)
dont ever get a dui.....they take you in a room and make you watch simple plan music videos....
MrStylson (March 2, 2009)
fuck it. I enjoyed No Worries and No Limits. I'd go to this if it wasn't so far away.
mikexdude (March 2, 2009)
I'm just a kid and my life is a nightmare! Oh man, they wrote that song FOR ME.
SATAN_the_KOREAN_DINOSAUR (March 2, 2009)
im so tired of all the stupid "reunions" this year. The only thing I'm going to is an unearthed & reainmated Cliff Burton led metallica show.
af_punk86 (March 2, 2009)
I'm really surprised at all the hate for Reset in here. I think Simple Plan is just as painful as anyone else but Reset is actually pretty good. I mean its nothing groundbreaking as far as skate punk goes but I know there are a lot of Slick Shoes fans in here. It's basically 90's fat wreck skate punk with pop punk vocals. I was pretty sure these boards were supportive of that kinda thing.
thatsyouth (March 2, 2009)
this is a case where there is no opinion. it is factual that that song, nor any other song that they created is even remotely close to being good.
thegimper (March 2, 2009)
Would it be to much to get The Planet Smashers to play a show in the states?
dearye (March 3, 2009)
I really liked this band when I was younger, and was certainly disappointed when Simple Plan formed/became something everyone seemed to like.
Dsquared (March 3, 2009)
Instead of reporting the 10 year anniversary of a solid punk programming show that features great local acts and the actual punk bands playing the festival to celebrate said programming - punknews highlights fucking simple plan.
keevhren (March 3, 2009)
i love reset. no limits and no worries are such good records. buy their original demo tape on ebay for $25,000.... no joke:
LeightonESmith (March 3, 2009)
The last Reset album was brilliant. These guys should be huge in punk circles but I hadn't heard of them until recently. Someone sign em.
LeightonESmith (March 3, 2009)
i encourage people to actually listen to these dudes: |
