the biggest complaints will be that a lot of stuff was left out, and the ending is changed
I also thought there was some bad acting/casting for a couple of characters, but Rorscach was perfectly badass, he reminded me of a mini-clint eastwood

There's no way they'd be able to include everything unless they made it a 4 hour movie. The final cut is over 3 hours, but the theatrical version had to be trimmed down to 2 and a half. The DVD will have the full version.

I'm glad they changed the ending, the squid was stupid.

oh I agree that the film was the right length, its just that a lot of plot holes happen when a novel like this transfers to film

Yeah I have no idea why a lot of people were pissed off that No Squid would make it into the film. Anyway, I always felt Watchmen would work better as a mini-series on HBO.

btw Has anyone seen the Motion Comic? It is loooooooong.

Yeah. I'm curious to know. I want to see it. Granted I've never read it and I will not be having any fanboy disappointment, maybe just regular disappointment.

I think the people who haven't read it will definitely be entertained, simply because they won't be making comparisons to the novel the whole time
I've read the novel and I'm kind of 50/50 with how I feel about the film, I loved a lot of it, but at the same time I wish a lot of things would've been done differently, I don't want to give away too much

I always just take the movie as the movie, and the novel and the novel. The comic book/novel can provide the template for what the movie is based upon, but there will never be a movie that is an exact, verbatim panel-by-panel recreation of whatever comic it is based on. Comparing them is stupid.

I've read the novel but haven't seen the movie yet.

I understand comparing them for comparison's sake, but when people start complaining about how the movie wasn't EXACTLY like the comic, or they left out this thing or that thing, I get annoyed.

Not saying that's what you were doing, I'm just speaking generally I see that

I agree. They are two completely different mediums and have two completely different ways of experiencing them--each with limitations inherently in the medium. If you really want something exactly like the comic book, why wouldn't you just re-read the comic book?

Yeah but it didn't come anywhere near the Bay Area. Also, Frank did like two weeks in California last year and the closest he came was Sacramento (over two hours away) on a Wednesday night.
Maybe Steve was right.

dude. I would go to this tour in a heart beat...if only I lived in the UK. Fake Problems played with Frank Turner in my basement last fall and it was absolutely fucking awesome...
