The long-awaited Green Day documentary, Heart Like a Hand Grenade, is set to premiere in Los Angeles on March 25th. Directed by John Roecker, who previously collaborated with the band on Live Freaky! Die Freaky! and The Network, the film documents the recording process of 2004's American Idiot.

i don't understand why the car is blowing up in the poster.

if this was on their entire career, i might netflix it, but probably not for just that record. for now i'll have to hold onto memories of the rarely broadcast Green Day Behind the Music.

Just got home from harvest of hope. That shit was amazing. Seeing Propagandhi for the first time was fucking rad. Brain Fallon looked beautiful as he always does. And the national impressed the shit out of me. Plus, a new NMB song!! One hell of a fucking weekend. Sucked to have to come back home.

Is it a documentary of their tour behind American Idiot, or does it span their whole career? The latter would be really cool, and why must they continue to promote American Idiot????

Wow, I am going to agree that this artist is horrible. I thought when you're drawing people, you're supposed to actually... draw what they look like? Billie Joe is too chiseled looking and Mike Dirnt looks like he should be singing in the Nekromantix.

this seems unnecessary, but maybe it will be interesting to see what kind of aspirations they had while making it, since i think it exploded a bit more than anyone expected

I could be wrong, but reading the description, I think the whole movie might be a cartoon.

I love Rock Docs as much as the next guy ... but "long awaited"? First I've heard about it ...
Cottage_Cheese (March 9, 2009)
I imagine the documentary being 1 minute long...
grafixx (March 9, 2009)
last i checked, the only thing that i've been "long-awaiting" is slayer to come back to chicago.
swank (March 9, 2009)
I remember hearing about this film when the album was just coming out, so to call it "long-awaited" is accurate.

this looks like the worst kind of circle jerk. What kind of narcissistic jerk puts themself on the poster with the band?

Good god, Green Day really does suck hairy dog scrote. I mean, there's sucky and then there's really sucky - but these guys really really REALLY suck salty nads (although, in all fairness, not nearly as much as the heinously disgusting joke-of-a-band known as The Offspring). To start off your "musical" career as indescribably bad - simply to get progressively and infinitely worse - is really a bitch slap in the face of humanity. |
