True Widow member arrested on drug charges

On March 1st, Dan Phillips of True Widow was arrested on marijuana possession and paraphernalia charges crossing the border from California to Arizona while on tour.

As Phillips' court date is set in the future the band will still be playing all currently planned shows including SXSW.

I'm pretty sure that everything does. That's hilarious. I hope the 'marshmallow effect' is every time and not just somebodies random encounter.

border betweet ca/az? I don't remember there being a checkpoint of any kind.

no checkpoints? which road are you taking? there's the fruit inspection one on every border crossing between ca and az. they wanna make sure we're not importing florida oranges or something.

one time, when moving from az to ca, my friend and i were in his car, loaded with fruit. we stopped at the gas station before the checkpoint, and either unloaded or ate all the produce we had. we got to the checkpoint, and said "nope. no fruit here." and went on our way. at the next gas stop, we switched driving duties, at which point i noticed a banana on the roof of the car, wedged into the luggage rack right over the driver's side door. which puts it right about at eye level with someone leaning into the car to check for fruit.

there is one if you are going into so cal.. its not really a border point just a random check point... I remember having to ditch all the beer cans on the trip from phoenix to san diego.

speaking of san diego if you ever move back, you and I are going to Pokez for burritos.

Been a while since I've driven across the country, I didn't remember the check point

I'm aiming for 2 years for the move... we will see how that works out, see if the economy picks back up, that way I can sell my house here and get something in san diego.

I will be up for burritos, tacos and carne asada fries anytime with you sir.

No, but I've heard of it. When I was there a couple months ago I gorged myself on every small corner mexican place I could... wasn't picky, and I wasn't let down.
