311 have set a release date for their next album. The record is titled Uplifter and is due out June 2, 2009. The band recorded with Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith) at the band's Hive Studio in North Hollywood.
The album is their first since 2005's Don't Tread On Me and a deluxe edition will feature a bonus DVD documentary with interviews, backstage footage and live performances, follows the band and their fans for the week leading up to the "3-11 Day" concert in New Orleans in 2008. News (53 comments)

Their cover of Love Song absolutely ruined that song for me. Every time I put on Disintegration I have to skip that track. 1+ Reply

311, great band. they don't get enough credit I think. the Blue Album and Grassroots were on my CD all the time back in my college days. Love these guys. 7+ Replies

Liked all their stuff, then Don't Tread on Me came out and I kinda lost track of em. That was bad. Here's hoping they've got a little back of whatever they used to have.

Couldn't they do something less offensive than release a new album? Like rape a school bus full of nuns or something?

An open letter to 311:

Especially when it comes to shit bands. Shit bands being The Blood Brothers. That being said, you have to give The Blood Brothers props for being musical magicians. Somehow that band was able to dupe a shitload of people into liking them. Just like TV on the Radio. 2+ Replies

Jeff Rosenstock told everyone at Harvest of Hope to make shirts that said "311 was an inside job". Then he told almost every bassist that played to play "slap bass". Good times. | Features
