The Paper Chase plans Kill Rock Stars release

The Paper Chase have announced plans to release their next full length this Spring. The record is titled Someday This Could All Be Yours, Part 1 and is due out May 26, 2009. The band, fronted by producer John Congleton, has announced that the album will feature ten songs, each representing natural disasters. The record is the follow up to 2006's Now You Are One of Us.

Someday This Could All Be Yours, Part 2 -also comprised of songs about natural disasters--will be released in early 2010. Punknews.org interviewed the band in 2007.

I've set my itunes to cut out Mike Ness' banter, that record rules without having to hear his pre-recorded messages. I swear he just has himself on a keychain and he pushes the appropriate buttons for stage chatter.

Live at the Hardback is really really good.

My favorite all time live record is the Boris the Sprinkler 'frozen tundra' double cd. That thing has so many great songs and Rev Norb is batshit crazy through the hole thing.

Well, it's all relative I guess, you're lucky you have the longevity to back it up now, but PBC has gotten me through the hardest times of my life since their 06 EP just as certain bands have for you all.

Sorry, propagandhi is boring and uneventful to me. And same with face to face, but in an even more boring way. Though, I am biased, with the exception of NoFX and Pulley, the skate punk that was popular around that time is horrible to me. I think it's the age difference.

Do you play guitar? I transcribed almost all of their songs, and I could show you through a musician's stand point that they may not be ground breaking, it's definitely not bland.

If they just stuck with the throaty vocal and got rid of the poppunk voice I'd prefer this a lot more. Musically I think a lot of the guitar playing is really good, but not to the level you hype it up. it's nothing that Braid,Counterfit, Benton Falls, Mock Orange or any technical indie rock band didn't already do.

Such a great record, I need to find a good version of The Sky Corvair.

Nanna did another Pre-Braid band and It is slipping my mind, but I remember it being decent.. It was on a 7" back when Polyvinyl was a zine..
I want to say it was Corm or Orwell?

also if you are into those types of bands you should check out Haymarket Riot, Traluma, Gauge and the Radio Flyer.

I loved Bob Nannas 365 Greatest songs, the last 25 he covered. I lost most of them, still have his Fugazi, Archers of Loaf and Alkaline Trio

Probably not, they are incredible, but their music which is my point. Not very many bands do the hardcore influenced emo/indie rock that PBC does.

Alkaline Trio and all those other bands that try and use dark imagery need to take a cue from these guys; they've got it down perfectly.
