i am in the city and do actually own a car. sometimes its nice to have an escape.

those all sound pretty rad, but the bronx, fake problems, and riverboat gamblers are three of my favorite live bands. so that's what i gotta do.

well I'm pretty sure the Bottom Lounge was the only option left available because that Classics Of Love / Mike Park show is at Reggies on the same day and I'm sure the Beat Kitchen and Sub-T are already booked.

i'm pretty sure it is at the old Knitting factory. i live in Brooklyn, and yeah fuck brooklyn. but as far as Manhattan venues go, the knitting factory is such a pain in the ass to get to. and then when you're done there's nothing around there to continue the fun.

That's true. It's eerily quiet. I selfishly like it because it's close to my work and is off of two train lines that take me all the way back home. It just takes me so long to get home from Brooklyn, especially on weekends...and all the best shows are going to brooklyn these days.

i live about 30 seconds off of the L or like 30 minutes from the JMZ so I am SOL with a lot of neighborhoods.

yeah, really the only places in the city that are still doing great shows regularly are the cake shop, the mercury lounge, and bowery ballroom.

i try to avoid webster hall, irving plaza, and terminal 5 at all costs, and i've never been to roseland.

its posts like these that make me not want to move to Philly, which I probably will do anyways.

its not that hard to get to hoboken from philly, or just take the chinatown bus and have a fun night in NYC. knitting factory isn't too far from where it lets off.

Philly gets it's share of good tours. It's mostly me making these posts anyway, and we get great shows that other cities don't see (i.e. last batch of Dead Milkmen reunion shows).

West Chester just seems a lot closer. I'd have to go to Jersey or NYC to hit up either of those shows, not a big fan of doing either.

Fake Problems just played Johnny Brenda's not too long ago with Murder By Death, so honestly I'm surprised they're coming so close so soon. I missed the last one as a result of my unfortunate birth date, but I will definitely be making the trek out for this one. For some reason it doesn't look like SEPTA has service to West Chester, but I will find my way there, no doubt.

I skipped that show because I wasn't a fan of Murder by Death and the other opener. Now Fake Problems is playing with a band I really love live though, so I might have to go somewhere to catch this show. The R5 stops in Exton right by the intersection of the 30 bypass and 100. If you could find someone to pick you up, it's an 8 minute drive to the Note from there. I'd help you but I live in Wilkes-Barre now.
