311 has announced 2009 dates for their annual Unity Tour. The 25-city trek kicks off June 5th and will feature support from Ziggy Marley. The band recently announced plans for a new album, Uplifter, due out June 2, 2009.

i actually saw them at the varsity gym at app (basically cause some friends wanted to go and i had a free ticket). it wasnt that bad, and before the show started, i ran up to the very top of the bleachers, cupped my hands over my mouth and yelled as loudly as possible "HIPPIES SUCK" in my 18 year old punk rock rage.

it was one of those moments (god i have so many in my life) where you swear you can actually hear the needle skip off the record. the ENTIRE crowd of hundreds of hippies turned around and looked at me and i replied "THATS RIGHT, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? YOU'RE HIPPIES"

in retrospect as a 30 year old adult it was pretty dumb, but at the time it was hilarious.

ziggy marley and the wailers was pretty cool though.
