I predicted this to be awesome all the way. Spike Jonze, and looks like a lot of in-camera special effects, if any. That's always preferred with me.

True those are all good (Maybe, it's Paul Schrader). I think the lesser known the subject, the better. Also, it's better if they are completely unrelated to the music/film/entertainment industry.

yea, get on the case! i also recommend that you see Hunger - which is another biopic i seen recently. One of the most powerful films i think i've ever seen - and i've seen quite a few!

Seriously? I thought it kinda sucked. The cinematography, editing and sound design were great, but the film didn't seem to work. Just turned into a sideshow there at the end.

that's a pretty stellar cast! if that is actually true then this film will be worth seeing. neither del toro or penn generally participate in a movie unless the script has relative merit. and the farrelly's are pretty high caliber. carrey on the other hand, seems to do anything these days if the price is right... but i still love him.

In all fairness to her, she's just some random chick who started making music on a synthesizer in her room and posted the shit on myspace. Someone at Old Nav found it and they y used a few songs in some ads and she subsequently got a record deal and made a career out of it.

So while the music isn't very good, I guess it's got enough of a market for her to garner some success. If anything she's just a testament to how in this age of youtube and social networking any random nobody can get relatively famous.

Dude, you're way off here.

Lights signed to Underground Operations for Canadian distribution back in early 2008, and was picked up by Doghouse (a Warner subsidiary) later that year for American distribution after a bidding war.

Warner Brothers runs Doghouse - she's a Warner artist for America that was downstreamed to Doghouse at her own request.

Sometimes it takes more than a Google search to actually learn something.
