Beastie Boys, Gaslight Anthem, Gogol Bordello, My Bloody Valentine at All Points West

The lineup has been announced for the 2009 All Points West festival. It takes place July 31 to August 2 at Liberty State Park in New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan. Headliners include Beastie Boys, Coldplay, Tool and others.

Some notable participants include Arctic Monkeys, The Gaslight Anthem, Gogol Bordello, Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine, Neko Case, Q-Tip, Steel Train, The Black Keys, The Cool Kids, The National, Tokyo Police Club, Vampire Weekend, White Rabbits and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

I was wondering if Scientistrock was going/lived around here, he referenced them in the last Navel Gazing and I asked him about it but he didn't get back to me.

I've accepted the dark reality I'll never fully complete the Mummies recorded output so I settle for the reissued vinyl and what I can find on Soulseek.

I'm pretty sure I am right at 90% complete with their catalog. There is a lot of overlap, but I've got most of the vinyl.

scientistrock will be there. He's got tickets to the show the night before too.

Do you have the Runnin on Empty stuff in mp3? I don't but have the records, if you have em, share, if not I'll convert them and do the same.

I'm sure the exact verisons aren't the same but yeah there is definitely a lot of overlap, but I am missing a bunch of stuff, I only have Never Been Caught and Death By Unga Bunga!! on mp3, and the That Girl 7", Food, Sickles, And Girls 7", (You Must Fight To Live) On The Planet Of The Apes 7", Get Late! 7" and Stronger Than Dirt 7"

Eh, I'm wary of getting that empirical but I can agree that they're boring as fuck. Lots of bands do stuff just as/more technical than them but much faster and more tastefully. Playing the same progression in 9/16 for four and a half minutes doesn't make you experimental.

im not a fan of how he does a top 20 of the year here, when he's abviouly lost touch with punk as a genre. he can like norma jean all he wants, but to say hes still relevent within punk is sad.

also, he said something about D4 not being good anymore and thats just not true.
