New Green Day video to be huge, says director

The first video from Green Day's previously announced 8th studio album 21st Century Breakdown is set to air on April 24th. The video will be for first single "Know Your Enemy".

Speaking in an interview with MTV regarding the video, director Matthew Cullen (who has also made videos for Weezer, Beck, Modest Mouse, R.E.M and Velvet Revolver) commented:

Oh, this was definitely the biggest video I've ever done. It has a lot of really big visuals, because I was trying to match the song, which is huge. There's a lot of symbolism that I tried to mirror [in the shoot]. I took a lot of influence from Green Day's lyrics and the imagery of [street artist] Banksy. It may not sound like a lot, but it's huge visually. It's gonna be a new experience for a lot of their fans. I mean, it's still Green Day, but it's just bigger."

21st Century Breakdown is sheduled for release on May 15th

Yeah...Notice he said the imagery of Banksy? Not actually the work of Banksy or his assistance. I expect this to be some poorly stenciled spray paint pictures of soldiers looking in home windows and teenage kids thinking it's brilliant.

what i want to know is, what actually makes a song "ambitious"? whenver a band says they are going to make a song ambitious, it just ends up having 10,000 guitar tracks and a bunch of instruments than none of the band members can play.

Being one of the biggest Green Day fans ever (seriously) I could NOT care less about their new album/video/sound/look/music. Go back to basics and regain some actual fans you ass-clowns.
