Our stream today comes from Brooklyn, NY-based Golden City. The band is the new project from Eric Richter of legendary emo/punk pioneers, Christie Front Drive.

How long has this been recorded? The first three songs at least have been on their myspace for like 2 years. Oh well, still cool.

The vocals can be a bit much on this one, and I don't know what's going on with the guitar at the end of the last song. Pretty solid though.

As a CFD fan from way back, I think it sounds decent but it frustrates me the same way Shorebirds does when I (can't help but) compare them to Latterman. The beats and drum parts are so overly simple that it stands out like a sore thumb. I may be rushing judgement after only listening to the first few songs, but that's the impression I get.
