Billy Talent complete "III"

Canada's Billy Talent have completed work on their third album, titled III. The record is expected in July and was recorded by Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, Stone Temple Pilots). The band has also launched an album site which features recording photos, blogs and videos. The band released their previous record, II, in 2006.

The band will be supporting the record on a forthcoming tour headlined by Rancid and Rise Against.

all i know about these guys is that they are really big and that they named themselves after the guy in Hard Core Logo (which I haven't watched in about 6 years gotta netflix).

i have never listened to them. i will do that now and report back.

ok. upon first listen, they sound like green day meets ant-flag but with even more of a faux british accent.

HCL is one of my favorite movies. For a fictional band, they end up being better then a lot of their 'real' counterparts.

Their first record is actually very interesting. All the slower songs are duds but the faster ones all have great guitar work and are just fun to listen to.

I have so many people that tell me their first album was the shit (I assume it was called 1?) but the only the I've listened to is what came after, and it's the type of quality that makes me not interested in where they "came from".

It's actually good. Half of the songs are fast and feature some awesome guitar stuff and the rhythm section is frantic as hell. I have no idea what the hell happened with the second record but the first one still has a bunch of cool songs.

Think The Living End played too fast on wax and you're in the ballpark.

Their first album came out under the name Pezz, and it was called Watoosh or something like that. It's more raw and punk than their releases to follow. Check it out if you get the chance.

Also, don't you love it when you tell people that you don't like something and then they just give you more of it?

so i've never heard these guys. according to the profile fans also liked 3 bands i like and 2 bands i hate. are they worth my time? also the name sounds like they should be ska, or a rapper
